Windows 8

On Feb.29,2012, Windows 8 Consumer Preview had published by Microsoft. It is
Free now for the Customers to have a look at it. Here is the download
(http://windows.microsoft.com/en-GB/windows-8/consumer-preview). It has 5
languages : English, Chinese, French, Japanese, German. Every language has 32
and 64 system setup. The purpose of this new system is to bring more convenience
and simple to operate. It has several of new features:

1. Internet Explorer 10
2. Semantic Zoom
3. App Bar
4. App Management and Switching
5. Charms

The IE 10 is much more fast and fluid. Swiping to navigate back and forward makes perfect sense; it's how every mobile web browser should navigate.Double tapping zooms in, or out, even when IE is running in Snap state

With the function of Semantic Zoom, we could zoom in or zoom out and organize all of apps easily and efficiently.

Windows 8 makes it accessible via an App bar that launches when you swipe up from the bottom edge of a screen. It's a best-of-both-worlds way to have controls when you need them, and screen real estate when you don't.

Charms have also been changed. It could swiping from the right side to bring it up. And in this way, the user could acesss to the searchings, settings and share data with others.

Ubi-camera

Sometime, the photographers will frame photos with their hands before they took a snap in order to get a good view. Using one's hands as the framing of camera to shot a photo may be not a dream soon. It is so cool!! The camera is currently developing by the Institute of Advanced Media Arts and Sciences. This camera will be called "Ubi-Camera". It comes equipped with a range sensor. In this way, it could detects the distance between the camera and the photographer's face and determines the framing. At this time, the camera will be a so small device that can just put on one finger. By pressing thumb, it will be easily get the shotting. However, this camera is still in the development stage. I think it is one of big changes and
challenges for current cameras.

Do you remember IBM ? well let me refresh your memory with a flash back from the past. This giant company was one of top leading companies in computer technology during the late 80's and the 90's before even Apple was able to come back with their hugest technology of the millennium. However, I am not here to write this info that you may or may not already know, but I am writing this blog to express how amazed I was after reading the article on the business website Bloomberg.com. Apparently a survey has been done to find out which Company is at the top level of the computer market at the moment, and by moment I mean the year 2011 (of-course). Now let's go back to the surprising part, According to the survey, IBM was able to push Microsoft from its long running position as the second valuable computer company in the market, and here when I thought IBM has disappeared along with the 90s era , it comes back with a great strike to hold the second spot. For those of you who would like to read more details regarding this info please have he freedom to click on the this link http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-09-30/ibm-tops-microsoft-for-first-time-since-1996.html.

Rolltop

Since the beginning of time technology has helped us out as a human race. From the invention of the wheel to the Internet, technology has been a great factor on the way our civilization has grown. With more and more technological advances just around the corner, our civilization will continue to grow faster and faster than ever before. Computers make life easier, portable and fashionable for people every day. For example: Rolltop.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7H0K1k54t6A
‘Rolltop’ is a portable computer which is specifically objected for designers and architectures. Its weight is no more than a mini notebook. It’s recognized as one of the most real futuristic notebook that is going to be ever-built. During the development process functionality and portability were mostly focused on even though technological improvements were not visible enough in first phase. Besides that Rolltop has the best ergonomic, technical and mechanic features added in it. As an end user you can only see 4 parts in the whole rolltop. They are- Flatboard( used as keyboard and monitor), Base (includes webcam, loud speaker), Holding belt (used as electric cable) and Power Supply. PROGRAM OR BE PROGRAMMED?

PROGRAM OR BE PROGRAMMED?
Would you like your child to be satisfied with some offered off the peg innovation or you would rather help them to be familiar with something offered by a medium which your child will have the ability to exploit on offer? Modern technology is helping new generation to enjoy the benefits with the blessing of modern tools. For example; retrieving information or doing digital computing in a handheld device as big as a credit card which is a mini-computer itself. And if this minicomputer can run software to program this computer by a young child to get them used to with computer science and basic programming, then will you have the audacity to take it? Yes, Raspberry Pi is the minicomputer developed by Raspberry Pi Foundation in UK.

Raspberry Pi is a single board minicomputer intended for children in order to inspire them about computing and let them bring digital world to their physical world. The aim was set to “put the fun back into learning computing”. It is a single board 85.60 × 53.98 mm (3.370 × 2.125 in) computer with a 700 MHz ARM processor, one USB port in Model A and two USB port in Model B so that you connect other USB based hardware. Besides that, this device also has the capability to connect with the internet. For Model A, consumer can use an USB wi-fi adapter to get connected with internet and for Model B, Raspberry Pi has a 10/100 Ethernet controller. It has 256 MB memory shared with GPU which is going to be a high profile video decoder as well. A Linux based distribution will be used as an operating system. Debian GNU. Calligra Suite and Python are going to be bundled with raspberry Pi. SD, MMC, SDIO cards can be used as storage device. The first sold devices are intended for developers to develop software which can be used by people specially children to write their own programs as the whole purpose beyond developing this computer was to stimulate children about learning computing. Since it is price consuming ($25-$35) everyone can have this minicomputer in school and they can write their own programming and learn how to control computer at an early age. A Cambridge-based engineer Upton, who brought up the idea of Raspberry Pi said, “What was needed was a return to an exciting, programmable machine like the old BBC Micro; and it had to be affordable, say around £20, so every child could potentially have one.” Therefore, as a part of the modern society and as a sincere human, wouldn’t you prefer to let your child have this technically ‘scrumptious’ Raspberry Pi for programming his own computer?

Privacy with Technology

Who touch my computer? In the computer, there are more or less our own personal information stored, which is our privacy. Even though, some of them may be not so important, we still do not want them to expose to the others. What is privacy? Privacy may be defined as the claim of individuals, groups or institutions to determine when, how and to what extent information about them is communicated to others. Privacy is your right to control what happens with personal information about you.(1) It is including: privacy of person such as “blood sample”; privacy of personal behavior such as “sex”; privacy of personal data such as “photo”. Why does the privacy matter? It is obvious that people want it and it is not only good for business but also it is a legal requirement.
Some of people are lack of personal privacy protection. How long will you change your password for the computer? When you post your information on the internet, do you protect your personal information? Did your password is your birthday? When you chat with stranger online, do you leak your personal privacy? There are so many points that we need to care about to protect our privacy. In the mobile companies, they have our personal call history. In the banks, they have our financial information. If there are any loopholes, others could easily get our information. Protect our privacy is not the job of organization but also ourselves.
Science and technology are primary productive forces. Looking at past and present, almost every advanced step of human society is in base on the technology. The technologies provide more freedom for human to develop the economy. In the facing of changing technology, it provides to strengthen our privacy but, in some degrees, it also violates our privacy.
